This policy explains what information this website collects, why it is collected and how it is handled. It applies to visitors to this website. Information shared in the course of a legal engagement is governed separately by the professional duty of confidentiality that attaches to that relationship.
What is collected
- Information you submit. When you complete a form, the website stores your name, contact details, the service you are interested in and your message, together with the page you came from and any campaign parameters in the link you followed (for example utm_source).
- Technical information. The host records standard server logs, including IP address, browser type and pages requested, as part of normal operation and security. Rate limiting uses a one-way hash of the IP address, not the address itself.
- Analytics and advertising tools. Where enabled, these record how the site is used. Names, email addresses, phone numbers and messages are never sent to them.
Why it is collected
Enquiry information is used to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to carry out the work. It is not sold, rented or shared for marketing purposes.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not become engagements are retained for a reasonable period and then removed. Records connected to an engagement are retained for as long as professional and statutory obligations require.
Confidentiality of enquiries
Information sent through the website is treated as confidential. Submitting an enquiry does not by itself create a lawyer and client relationship, so please avoid sending sensitive details of a matter until an engagement has been confirmed in writing.
Cookies and local storage
The website uses what is necessary for it to work, such as remembering that you closed an announcement or a popup and keeping campaign details for the length of your visit. Where analytics or advertising tools are enabled, they may set their own cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Your requests
To ask what information is held about you, to correct it or to request its deletion, use the details on the contact page.
